Chris Mead

Assistant Research Scientist

I am a discipline-based education researcher, working primarily on digital and online learning. My current research projects include using institutional data to study equity and inclusion in college science education, developing and applying learning analytics-based tools in a range of educational settings, and investigating the effectiveness of using virtual field environments to teach geoscience. 

My disciplinary background is in geology and isotope geochemistry. I earned a B.S. and M.S. in geology from the University of Illinois and earned my Ph.D. in geology and geoscience education at ASU. 

Currently I am working on the HHMI Inclusive Excellence project and collaborating with the SEISMIC initiative.
