Erika Nadile
Ph.D. student in Biology and Society
Research interests: I am broadly passionate about how undergraduate biology students learn and associated factors. Particularly, I am interested in exploring students' attitudes about singly speaking out in the classroom when called on or when wanting to ask a question and how this impacts learning and success. With this research, I hope to learn about more inclusive ways for students to participate, such as using alternative methods of classroom discussion and participation.
About me: I was raised in Billerica, Massachusetts, am the first in my immediate family to attend college, and received two degrees from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (a university close to my hometown). There I earned my B.S. in Biological Sciences and M.S. in Biological Sciences with a special concentration in education, communication, and outreach (making me a double Riverhawk alumna). I enjoy traveling, cooking, and meeting new people from all over the world!
