We are excited to share a new essay out in CBE Life Sciences Education that recommends 14 ways to make biology academic environments more inclusive for LGBTQ+ individuals. This work was a collaborative project done with 26 individuals who identify in different ways along the LGBTQ+ spectrum and some allies. Given how little published literature there is on how to make the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals better, the collective personal experiences that informed this essay were critical.
