Logan, Rachel, Erika, and LEAP Scholars present at ASU's BioSci Southwest Symposium

ASU hosted the first ever BioSci Southwest Symposium as a way to foster networking among biologists in the Southwest. Logan presented a lightning talk at the meeting on his work on premed students in a fully online degree program (click here to read the paper). Erika presented a poster entitled "Don’t joke about me: The impact of student identity on perception of instructor humor in college science courses." The LEAP Scholars presented posters on their work: Rachel and Diana presented "Factors that predict biological sciences student persistence in undergraduate research experiences," Carolyn presented "Development of biologically active secretin agonists and antagonists," Deanna presented "Mercury as a proxy for food consumption in fish," Cindy presented "Sex differences in offensive/defensive investment in crayfish," and Kim presented "Activation and proliferation of Th-1, Th-2, and Th-17 cells."
