Sara was invited to give a talk at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany as part of the Equality and Diversity Committee Seminar series. Her talk was entitled "Beneath the numbers: Invisible gender gaps in undergraduate biology courses." She presented data from the lab that illustrates gender gaps in undergraduate biology classrooms, including in achievement, classroom participation, student confidence in one's ability compared to others, and even in student responses to instructor use of humor in the classroom.
