Bio-MAPS collaborator Kate Semsar wrote a blog post about the Phys-MAPS assessment - specifically the use of likely true vs unlikely true statements as opposed to more traditional true/false choices. The Phys-MAPS assessment and the EcoEvo-MAPS assessment both used this format. They are two tests that are part of the broader suite of Bio-MAPS programmatic instruments used to measure student understanding of the core concepts of biology across the major. The EcoEvo-MAPS assessment is already published, and the Phys-MAPS and GenBio-MAPS assessments have been accepted for publication, but aren't out yet.
