Sara heads to Washington DC, where she presented an invited talk as part of an American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) symposium entitled "Inclusivity and Diversity in STEM." Along with Shirley Malcolm, Burcin Tamer, and Luis Leyva, she represented perspectives on diversity and inclusion from a non-physics perspective. She presented a talk "Exploring the influence of covert identities in active learning classrooms" and highlighted our prior work on LGBTQIA students and how active learning can influence student anxiety.
