Katey was invited to give a workshop entitled "Building inclusive and fair classrooms: Spotting sources of bias in biology classrooms" to faculty, staff, and students in ASU's School of Human Evolution and Social Change. In this interactive workshop, she helped participants recognize ways to create more inclusive and fair classrooms. She also discussed how the unique aspects of an active learning environment present both challenges and opportunities for creating an inclusive classroom.
