We are happy to announce a new publication out in the July issue of the Journal of College Science Teaching: "The Explorations Program: Benefits of Single-Session, Research-Focused Classes for Students and Postdoctoral Instructors." This work evaluates a program that Sara started at Stanford back in 2008 that is still ongoing. Introductory biology students attend an Exploration, a single 2-4 hour session focused on a niche topic in biology that they would normally not get exposed to in the typical curriculum. We examined the impact of the program on both students who participated and the grad student/postdoc instructors who developed and taught the courses.

Special thanks to co-authors Jeremy Hsu, Anna Wrona, and Waheeda Khalfan!
