New publication on faculty perspectives on course-based undergraduate research experiences in BioSci

What are the challenges and benefits for faculty who develop their own course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE)? We conducted an interview study of a national population of faculty to collect their perspectives on both. We also asked them what attributes they would recommend for a faculty member to have to be a successful CURE instructor. This is the first study of a national population of faculty who have developed their own CUREs.

The electronic version of our new publication of the perspectives of faculty who developed and taught their own CURE is available online! The print version of the article will be out in BioScience in January.

Congrats to Erin Shortlidge, a former postdoc in the lab, for her first, first author publication in biology education! Special thanks also goes out to collaborator Gita Bangera!

Erin is now an Assistant Professor in Biology Education at Portland State University. Check out a Portland State news article about the publication.
